Our commitment
YolanCare is committed to making home care easier to find for every Canadian, including people with disabilities. We work to align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and to meet or exceed the standards of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Accessible Canada Act.
What we do
- Semantic HTML, keyboard-navigable interactions, and visible focus indicators.
- Colour contrast tested against WCAG AA thresholds.
- Alt text on meaningful images and descriptive labels on form fields and icon buttons.
- Responsive design that scales cleanly on phones, tablets, and desktops, and supports 200% text zoom.
- Accessible primitives (Radix UI) for menus, dialogs, and other complex components.
Known limitations
Accessibility is an ongoing process. Some third-party content — such as embedded payment forms from Stripe, external map tiles, and Caregiver-uploaded photos — may not fully meet the same standards as the rest of the site. We continue to test and improve, and we welcome feedback on areas we should prioritize next.
Requesting an accessible format
If you need information from our website in an alternate format (large print, accessible PDF, plain-text email, etc.), please contact us and we will provide it at no additional cost within a reasonable time.
Reporting a barrier
If you encounter a page, feature, or interaction that is difficult to use because of a disability or assistive technology, we want to know. Please email accessibility@yolancare.ca with:
- The page URL where you experienced the issue.
- A description of the problem and, if you can, the assistive technology you were using.
- Your preferred way to receive a response.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to address urgent barriers as quickly as reasonably possible.
